Dr Ben Nguyen

BSc (Hons) MBBS FRACP

Dr Ben Nguyen currently manages a wide variety of sleep disorders including sleep-disordered breathing, narcolepsy, parasomnias and restless legs syndrome.

He is a Staff Specialist at St Vincent’s Hospital and a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney. He has ongoing research collaborations with the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research and is a Clinical Lecturer for the University of Sydney.

He undertook his Respiratory and Sleep Medicine training at Royal Prince Alfred, Concord Repatriation General and Campbelltown Hospitals and completed a Sleep Medicine Fellowship at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

Dr Nguyen is completing a PhD assessing the effects of positive airway pressure therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and comorbid sleep disordered breathing and has presented his findings at both national and international respiratory and sleep society meetings and published in a number of peer reviewed journals.

Indicative Fees Initial Consultations
Standard: $350, and with a Medicare rebate of $151.90, where eligible, the out-of-pocket cost is $198.10.
Long/Complex (≥45 mins, 2 or more problems): $500, and with a Medicare rebate of $265.60, where eligible, the out-of-pocket cost is $234.40.

Follow-up Consultations
Standard Follow-up: $220, and with a Medicare rebate of $76.00, where eligible, the out-of-pocket cost is $144.00.
Long/Complex Follow-up (≥20 mins, 2 or more problems): $290, and with a Medicare rebate of $133.00, where eligible, the out-of-pocket cost is $157.00.

For consultations with Dr Nguyen, a referral is required to access any available Medicare rebate. The medical practitioners (non-specialist) on our platform can provide you with a referral to a specialist or psychologist, if needed. You can also use a referral from your regular GP.

Cancellation Policy Dr Nguyen has a strict cancellation policy and will charge the full amount of the consultation as a fee for any missed or cancelled appointments that are not rescheduled at least 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellation fees are not eligible for a Medicare rebate.
